We have had this camera now for three years. All of a sudden it has died on us ! The battery indicator lights up and we can take a couple of pics and then the indicator shows low and that's it. We use rechargable batteries. Phoned Olympus today and they quote me 120 for repair plus VAT.
We have been careful when using the camera and it has not been dropped or bashed around in any way.I would expect an expensive camera like this to last more then three years.Of course we won't have it repaired it will be cheaper to buy a new one.Has anyone else experienced problems with this model .

Could possibly be the battery that has died...some rechargeables do have a record of this kind of thing after prolonged use
Hi,  I agree with commoner, definately sounds like typical behaviour of batteries which have reached the end of their usable lifetime.

Thanks for your replies. We did purchase some Duracell batteries and tried those but the same thing happens. It's a mystery !
Hello,

I have a similar problem. Sometimes we can take photo's or go to the menu and suddenly he don't react any more. You even can't shut down the camera. We use also Duracell and the are brand new. Do anybody have a solution?
