Is it just me, or are these the most obtuse clues ever?!

I have binned mine, as the majority make no sense to me at all!

Weirdly, I am able to tackle "so called" much harder puzzles!

I am definitely not on the same wavelength as this setter!

Agree whole heartedly, got there in the end but a lot by just working out the key word in the clue and using letters I had, even then could not see how it fitted the cryptic bit of the clue on a lot of them.

Most of the enjoyment has gone out of it with this setter. Wish they would get rid and employ someone better.
It's been going downhill for a good while now - we used to have the Sunday Express but gave up on it! Joined the Times Xword Club instead!

Glad it's not just me!

They really need a new setter!

Agree, ubasses, that it can be done by trial and error.....and Roslyn, I doubt I'll buy it again!! I enjoy the Times too, but haven't joined the online club yet!
I thought it was just me! Two clues spring to mind. 5 down "I say, Odin's left" and 8 across Some scope 'em out. I have seen them answered elsewhere as EGO and A BIT respectively. I can't see any relevance between those answers and the clues.
Soliloquy - Those two clues make sense to me :-

I=Ego (say=EG and Odin's left is O)

Scope+AMBIT and with M removed it becomes A BIT (=Some)
