If it's the same programme I'm thinking of it was the second half (all saxophone, no lyrics) of Hazel O'Connor's 'Will You..?'

this programme ran for one series and was a drama set around a lfeboat station in Wales? I think. Hope this helps.

the song lifeboat was composed by Michael storey, produced by Michael storey and ray singer (according to the CD cover for this song.

there is another song on the CD titled "you are so familiar"
