Best way to remove burrs from dog hair?
I have a English Springer and a Border Collie and, when out walking them, the Springer always comes back with his fur full of burrs. They are not the small easily-removable ones but very hard, larger ones - they look a little like small green acorns. Does anyone have an easy way of removing them because, short of citting them out, I am at a loss. I am talking hundreds of them, many in big clumps. I will try and link a photo. Many thanks.

What a mess. I walk 2 spaniels and they are covered in the little green sticky buds...not as badly as that. Their owner uses a detangling spray from Pets at Home

Cowboy Magic detangler is excellent for deknotting, and I have used it to get out some sticky burrs out of my Rough Collies coats.

I spray all their featherings with a detangling spray before I go anywhere now, there are lots around, I prefer Ice on Ice from Chris Christensen, there is another called 'the stuff'.

I've only ever tried this on a horse (one who used to get any burr, prickle etc within a ten foot range,) and someone introduced me to mane and tail detangler, and it worked a treat, and if you put it on before he went out, it seemed to help to ease the burrs out more more gently, so it might have the same effect on a dog.
