I have a trelis fence between me and my neighbours that I would like to grow some fragrant plants in pots against (their garden is full of dog poo)
I like Jasmin but I find it a little sickly. Can anyone recommend anything else/
Thanks in anticipation

Honeysuckle is lovely (Lonicera) and spreads quite well too.
Honeysuckles are good but can grow to quite a size. How high is the trellis fence and is it in shade or sunshine?
Do they have to be climbers? If so I agree with honeysuckle. I also like the shrubs Philadelphus (mock orange) and Choisya (Mexican orange blossom)
In the summer, try growing some easy night scented stock in pots or tubs for the evening scent and dark blue petunias for day time scent.

Honeysuckle's fine but but you'll only get flowers for a few weeks and seeing as it'll be in a tub, you might not get many at all if you don't keep up with watering and feeding.

I have a lovely Trachelospermum jasminoides which has nice, scented white flowers all summer...they have glossy, evergreen leaves and are not such a brute as jasmine.

for the winter, tubs of pansy and polyanthus hould smel lovely when the sun's on them and in spring, chuck in some scented bulbs....daffodil 'cheerfulness' or 'paperwhite' for example or tubs full of hycinths will be delightful in spring.

Thank you all so much
And for the winter months there is winter Honeysuckle , which is a shrub which is easily clipped. Has small very fragrant flowers that bloom all winter and stronger smelling than the climbing variety.' Lonicera fragrantissima.' But personally I would make a complete to Enviromental health if the neighbours are not clearing up after their dog.
sorry complaint not complete
