Esomeprazole and other tablets
6 Answers
Mr mac is on loads of different tablets including Esomeprazole. He has recently started taking digoxin and iron tablets and is now feeling quite short of breath a couple of hours after taking his tablets. I've found a couple of references to esomeprazole interacting with both these meds, but since his docs have prescribed them and know all the stuff he is on I presume it can't be a major problem. He'll mention it at his next appointment, but does anyone know if it would make a difference if he spaced them out? At the moment he takes them all at the same time - would it be worth him maybe taking the esomeprazole a couple of hours after the others or something?
Thanks

I do know that Mr mac is on immunosuppresants and their regime must remain as directed.
There are drug interactions between Esomeprazole and other drugs that require stomach absorption but they do not pose a major problem.
One always assumes that a symptom following the introduction of another drug is due to a side effect or a drug interaction and in my experience this is mostly not the case.
Shortness of breath, in the case of your husband should e assessed by a consultant or at least reported to your GP.
