To any muslims on here...
Why do you think that its ok to burn western books (thinking of Salmon Rushdie) and yet if anyone burns the koran its a cause for jihad?
Whats the difference?

Literary critics might regard The Satanic Verses as a masterpiece but they don't regard it as 'holy'.

I've organised quite a few Bible burning parties in my time (with the odd Koran thrown in from time to time) but, purely on thir lack of literary merit (or journalistic integrity), I'd rather be burning 'The Sun', 'Hello' and similar journals.

Oh for goodness sake! Grow up all of you. If nobody burned anybody else's books, life would be a whole lot easier. Accept that different people have different beliefs. That does not make them enemies, only diffferent.

Don't you realise that paper is recycleable? Holy books are as good a pulped fiction as you could get.
