My insurance company dont do third party any more.

Can you still get it?

Is it a vintage car because you can get special "low mileage" insurance for that.
If it is just run of the mill car not vintage it is often cheaper to go to your existing insurance company, most do a discount for 2nd car on policy

just a run of the mill car...my insurers will insure it but wont use the existing No claims, so will start from zero for it, so will fleece me for the premiums..
Admiral do a multi car policy - not used it myslf.

Thanks Tony, tried them and they offered a best quote of 1,050 for two cars !!
Third party only covers you if you are in an accident with someone else, would you not want fire and theft cover too? The greater excess you have, the cheaper the cover will be (in general).

Whoops, I meant 3rd party F&T Boxy, sorry....my other car is on comprehensive cover.....

why won't your insurers carry over your NCB? - i don't understand that, you are still you, with the same driving/claims history.

I did argue this with them Boxy, it makes no sense to me, I think it is just a way to get more money out of me....it just isnt fair....
If the car travels less than a 1000 miles per year, tell them, if the car is only going to be used in the day time & not at peak time, tell them, also ask them that the cars is worth ???? £££ if its a cheapo, Tell them, I would ask them for the cheapest possible cover that they will give you, try Martin Lewis's site, Google cheap insurance & compare the costs, there are ways to get Insurance but you have to search.

Comprehensive is often cheaper than third party - strange but true.

If you don't believe me, put in for quotes for both on a comparison site and see the results.

In answer to your original question try ringing your local Swinton brokers, as they can be very helpful.
