What he was actually doing was seizing the moment when Gaddafi claimed to be willing to stop his WMD programme.
It's great that we live in a country with a stable democracy where rulers are not ousted in bloody coups. We are lucky. I don't begrudge the help we give other countries when we can. We cannot expect Libya's rebels all to be pargons of virtue or all to speak as one voice, but neither are they savages.
Personally also, I don't understand the criticism that NATO has come under for helping the rebels. It may have sailed close to the wind as far as adhering to the UN resolition is concerned, but personally I don't care!
