If you're going the Palace anyway, the best place to watch the changing of the guard is from the front gates of Buckingham Palace.

Nearest tube is eithe Victoria or St James Park depending on which line suits you more. Both equal distance and about a 10 minute walk from the gates.

Have a good day........
♫They're changing the guard at Buckingham Palace, Christopher Robin went down with Alice♫ - Sorry, couldn't resist it.
Says Alice....
The way I heard it Alice went down on Christopher Robin, hence the reason he is always portrayed with a big smile in the books.
First point:
The ceremony only takes place every other day. (Odd-numbered days this month. Even-numbered days next month).

So you're wasting your time if you're going on the wrong date!

Second Point:
The best view is from the front of the Palace.

Point three:
While Maidup might (by a yard or two) be correct in stating that Victoria and St James Park are the closest Tube stations, the walk from either station isn't particularly pleasant. Green Park would be my preferred way of getting to Buckingham Palace. (It's a lovely, relaxing walk through the park).

Thanks for your reply. I hope that you had a good day.

A Travelcard for central London only (Zones 1 & 2) costs £6.60 off-peak (any time at weekends, after 0930 on weekdays) and £8.00 for use at other times.

Your tickets must have included Zone 3 travel as well. (£10.00 peak. £7.30 off-peak).

I think Dee Sa will be too cream crackered to post this evening. I would be at her age. Respect to her if she does.
That sounded like an ambitious plan for the London day. I hope it went well DeeSa.
