Ok - sorry to be a numbskull here but its been ages since I did anything payment-wise that wasn't on line.
I have a Tesco credit card (MasterCard) and have £300 cash which I want to pay off the card. Can I just go into a bank with the card and cash and get them to do it? or do I need to pay it into my bank account and then make the payment from my account?
Take the paying in slip from the bottom of the statement and you can pay it in any bank, but if you use a bank you have not got an account with they may charge you, so if you are using your own bank take proof you have an account with them too.
Don't have a statement, all done on line. Will go to my bank and see if they can pay the money off the account via the card. Will take my bank card in as well and if they can't do it off the credit card I can pay it into my account.
I'm sure it'll work. When I used to have a credit card I always paid the statement at the bank, with a cheque. I can't see cash being a problem so long as you can inform the bank as to which account it needs to go. Surely it must involve a slip of some kind that will act as your receipt ?
Well - what a pallava!! Because the Credit Card is dealt with normally online (no paper statements etc) I had to pay it into my bank account at the bank, then the bank tranferred it from the account to the crdit card account.
LOL I could hear tutting and big sighs behind me. So if you were one of the ones behind me lunchtime in NatWest. I apologise for the delay :-)
