In July when this is supposed to have occurred she was a 'normal' citizen having lost her seat at the general election. The crims were supposed to be working for a local charity but had nothing to do. Jacqui Smith had them do some painting, and paid a donation to the charity.
I fail to see any wrong doing?
I have read it on the BBC, so the Mail or Express might have a different spin on it.
I notice she didn't say how much she donated . Which being in the public eye would have been the first thing she would have said, had it been a fair amount . Did she donate the minimum wage or the amount she would have paid a couple of painters ? Or did she get it on the cheap ?
most people employ a decorator to do the work, or do it themselves, don't see this as being right at all, whatever she donated to charity,
this isn't work in the community, that would be clearing up graffiti, rubbish, and generally being useful to that community.
Quite right em especially in a house bought with taxpayers money.
What was it she claimed ? If I remember something like £120k when she claimed for a second home when in fact she was living with her sister.
Just the sort of person who would donate to a charity.
If she wanted work done rather than approaching the guys direct should have contacted the organisation that employs them. They said they did not know anything about it!
I've nothing against the people doing the work, they probably did'nt have much choice. There are plenty of people who could do with their help who could not afford it,but she could.
