wooaaww!! Its got me up again, the pain of this sciatica, I've taken my quota of tablets, I've rubbed my gel in but to no avail, boy is it telling me.... I'm going to do a hot water bottle now, I've paced up and down, what else can I do?
I'll try to snooze on the settee.

Thanks Harry, I hope you get some relief soon I'm sorry for you as I am for me. I'm clock watching at the mo waiting for the time I can take my next dose of tabs, but there's not much relief I'm afraid. How do you cope?

hi jemisa know how you feel, I have had sciatica for years and when it comes on I am to tears, there is no relief.Tried sitting on hard chairs, on the floor but nothing seems to move that unexplainable pain.Poor you I feel so sorry for you.

It's been years since I suffered (pregnancy related) but I remember that pain more so than the labour.

My sympathy to you all. It's blooming nasty (I know,I know, you don't need me to tell you) I too tried the standing on hard floor , bare foot and wiggle. Might have been interesting viewing. I hope it eases sooner rather than later.

Thankyou alba. Someone did say that it gets worse before it gets better, well that certainly is the case at the mo. I've suffered like this for at least 10 days now. IMO its worse than labour pains, never been in labour for 10 days before.
(sorry for being such a grump)

Hi Jemisa. I had Sciatica last year. I bought a TENS machine, and the doctor game me Solpidol tablets. It went eventually, but I am always aware that if I sit on a hard chair, I could have it again. I agree, the pain is sheer h**l. Best of luck to you

i used a TENS machine asa well ,better than loads of pills,and they are right down in price now compared to what they were.

accupuncture. Not the airy fairy type you hear about talking energy lines and all that. OH just had course on NHS with physiotherapist, needles go in painfully deep to affected area and it builds up over several weeks. He was very sceptical but it actually worked. He has taken details of Physios private clinic so he can cut out NHS waiting list for any future problems.

I must say I've had a miserable day, no let up with the pain. I'm sitting here now with a blanket wrapped round my leg, it feels a little easier when its warm. I'd never heard of a Tens machine, looked it up, I'll get one if you really think I'll benifit from it.
Doc won't give me anything else but Co-codimol because I'm taking other medication for other probs and it could cause liver failure to mix 'em. Will be seeing him on Tues. (Its going to be a long weekend for me)
