blood pressure update
17 Answers
I have now been on b/p/tablets for three days.
Wednesday I went to doctors and my blood pressure was still quite high at
160/100, so have been given AMLODIPINE 5 mg.
I have an appointment for a months time to keep check on it.
Doc said the effects may cause my legs to swell, and if so, she will change medication. Does this sound ok?

I did feel extra tired for a month or two after starting to take them but it soon wore off. I can tell you my blood pressure immediately went down and at every check since it has been 120/80 or less. It is one of the best BP tablets to take - so please stick with it and I'm sure you will be pleased with the results.
Lloyds pharmecy do a very good monitor at a very good price, and they measure your arm so that you get the correct size cuff. My pressure was 180/105. felt really well , but Doctor nor happy. tried the beta blockers, gave me the first migrane I have ever had. so now on benzofluoromethiazide plus candersartan, and pressure at perfect level, 120/80, and having the monitor gives me confidence to know that each day when I take the pressure that things are all o.k. mind you, if I sit and watch the t.v. for an hour and take my pressure, it is sometimes rather low 100/60, make you dizzy when you stand up, but soon rights itself. the doctor said that that pressure at rest was great.
