Last two to complete this - for fun only, as I have no chance of working out the thematic answer.
17 D. African country made famous by Bronowski?(3) NA?
(I want put 'Nat' but don't know why)
24 D. Californian cat -meagre fellow (4) ?ar?
(Thought of 'carl', as it has ca/California)
As I,with help on two clues, have completed the grid, I am now intrigued about the other aspects of this puzzle. The title is Dancing Girl. 17 shaded squares give the probable real name(2 words) of a character and his destination. Unless ABers have done this puzzle, they won't be able to give me any suggestions for the character and destination - but I'm hoping they can help me make something out of SMUOMSHEDEFETAIL.
Hi Nical
Are you totally sure of your highlighted 17 letters? I'm struggling with the name too, but I have an "A" instead of one of your Es and I think you've left out an "R". I'd love to know if I'm struggling with the right anagrams!
Think there is only one "a" in the highlighted letters. I made a mistake with Georgia in one clue......the answer is the abbreviation for the country not the state. Hope that makes sense?
Still none the wiser, though, as to the theme or anagram, so any boot in the correct direction much appreciated?!
Thanks again Voulez-vous. Have now completed everything after waking up this morning with a song playing in my head and, as a result, looking at this puzzle in a new way! How does a brain do that?!
