There instead of their
Completition instead of completion

Just 2 Businesses who rate themselves as being 'on the ball' for their potential clients. OH used to work for them so googled to see if they were still in business, apparently they are.

I'd have thought if you spend a considerable amount of money show-casing your product/company on the web, the least you could do is to spell correctly?

I totally agree with you, albaquerty! I am always amazed by how little effort is put into the correct spelling on websites. Sad really!
some I have seen that advertise as being the best:
hairdresser that does extentions
joiner can make any size cupboards and draws
gardener, no job to small
should have said, not on a website, but on leaflets etc.

googled a third and all spelling was perfect. Refreshing change (I must get a life as the tears were falling)

LOL Winner, I like them !!
Your comments make me wonder if it was an estate agents you viewed, and more than that if it was the same one I viewed once when looking for a house this time last year. I found the grammer so atrocious, with similar mistakes to those described, that I felt compelled to email them and tell them because of that I wasn't even going to bother looking on their site any longer. I was hoping they'd reply but they never did.

Oh postdog, they couldn't understand the language you chose:)

These were/are businesses who 'do' suspended ceilings, partitions and so on.
One actually bragged about the work they did in a specialist cancer unit which made me shudder.I'm not expecting a level of correct spelling from their employees (sounds patronising but it's not meant to come across as that) it's the level of the actual Company I'm querying.
I agree about Estate Agents. I never understand why a company in teh property business can't spell accommodation. When our house was put on the market I pointed out at least 20 errors on the leaflet (accomodation, lovely veiws, comprise of., 3 bedroom's..,etc) but they seemed very reluctant to make the corrections.
Or perhaps I'm petty.
Some time ago, I emailed KGB Deals to point out that their TV advert was asking for a "vaILd driving licence".

It took two attempts before they understood me...

Do you think some of them use US spelling-checks rather than employ a proof-reader?

I don't think it is petty to quibble about spelling when one is wanting to buy/sell a product. Whether it be a house or using a business' service.

Hi kingy x
Y'self, alba :-)
I've seen one for a wedding venue which is holding 'An evening with....' and states that there will also be a 'compare' and comedian. They also have varied menu's.
Outside one local shop they had a sign up saying 'Please do not leave supermarket trolley's in front of our window'. I think they had so many people going in to comment on it that they had to change it:)
