Ratings for premiums take account of the motor crime and accident statistics for an area. No account is taken of the ethnic mix. Are you thinking of Blackburn as I know Jack Straw mentioned it once?
the actual population isnt taken into account, its the level of crime / accidents / fraudulent claims etc that are taken into account, not the colour of the people who live there.
Yes I know the colour of the poeple is not taken into account.
Can we now come to the conclusion that Asians are involved in a disproportionate amount of driving without insurance offences and 'crash for cash' scams? It does seem that way.
Or you could come to the conclusion that poorer areas have higher crime rates and hence higher insurance costs and that a lot of Asian people are forced to live in poorer areas.
I'll bet there's more crime in Golders Green than in my small village in rural Buckinghamshire.

All that has been said so far suggests that Asians tend to live in the sort of areas that have higher levels of motor claims/accidents/fraudulent claims. That doesn't mean they are more likely to be the cause of these claims/offences.
I'm not sure whether any data is or should be available on the ethnic origin of claimants and those involved in motor crimes.
How do you know that car insurance costs more in areas of high Asian population? I can't believe there is any data to back up your claim.
Anecdotal evidence gleaned from watching the likes of Road Wars occasionally suggests that most car crime involves young white kids. This, of course, is reflected in the fact that young men get charged higher premiums than older people. It does seem that way....
I`m from Blackburn, I don`t drive myself but my daughter was told by her insurance company that the inflated prices are partly because of the high incidence of "cash for crash" in our area.
