If any quiz requested no help to be asked for then I would not do so ... I recently made this error but did not know that this request had been made as it did not say so on my form and I did not know to check here. I apologised and have not sent that quiz back in. It is always the first rule I look for before asking.
I admit I should have worded my request better and not used the word "help" ... I avoided using the word "answers" as I wanted only a clue but, of course, anyone helping me is not a mind-reader and would not have known that is what I meant.
As for charities losing out with drop in sales of quizzes ... I only sent for Heage (for instance) in the first place after seeing the banter going on here and wanted to see what the fuss was about. I found that quiz very enjoyable and it seemed to be much easier than any subsequent ones - could have been that it was a new concept to me and it was good to do something different.
Yes, they are for CHARITY ... I am very happy to hand over my £1 to the charity who get the money whether I "cheat" or not ... and I do not consider it cheating. My friend called recently and I had a quiz (a picture one) open on the table and they named several of the people/logos ... was that cheating?
I do understand the controversy about asking for CLUES - I am miffed about one quiz in particular at the moment being asked for over and over and I worked long and hard working through it on my own and most of the answers can be found by looking through a theasaurus or using a search engine. BUT I also know how frustrating and annyoing it is when you can't see the wood for the trees with a question and a little clue can help you out and you learn for next time. I can now do many different types of questions that I would never have understood before.
