side is lovely, we were in an all inmclusive hotel but managed a couple of trips out to Side itself for shopping and also to Manavgat which is the closest large town. There is a lovey river there and you can go on boat trips up to a waterfall, though we didnt.
Side is a big touristy town for shops, lots of jewellery stores, they will expect you to knock prices down. They have now banned store owners from harrassing the shoppers so hopefully you will be able to shop and browse in relative peace.
The harbour is pretty and there is an amphitheatre at the top end of the town and the temples of Apollo and Athena are near the harbour and the coast path.

redcrx is spot on, we were in see-day (side) 2 weeks ago and it's not that big though, you can walk around all the streets in about an hour, Manavgat is worth a visit on market day, it's on a Monday, the dolmus bus is 1-50 turkish lr. When there have a drink or lunch down by the big river, it's at the back of the market and in the middle of town. if you like walking then when you are looking out to sea at Side harbour turn right and walk along the prom to Kumkoy, lovely to stroll there and back. Also a trip to Alanya is worth it. Enjoy.
Hi We have been to turkey 6/7 times and we always go to the antalya region, if you are interested in seeing the ruins and want to go on a guided tour the trip to perge and aspendos is well worth a visit. We have also been to manavget to see the waterfalls and gone to the market, just be warned that the market is extremely hot and we went in october. Have a briiliant time .
