Salad, what is the point?
29 Answers
Just checked a bag of salad. 1 of one's 5 a day is 100gm. of green salad. If I ate that much at one meal I would be too bored to eat anything else. Not that it is filling. Is it just an expensive waste?

Salad - I can't live without it.
I grow it from May to September to guarentee a constant supply and eat it most days, either for lunch with hummous or in a sandwich and for dinner with new or jacket potatoes, pasta, or as a side salad. In fact I can't think of much I wouldn't add salad to at this time of the year.
Once we get into autumn I shall miss it but even I can't eat it with stew or roast dinner!
