I can't find the title or author to this children's book

This book seemed to have been from an east European fairytale. Maybe Slavic or Russian. The illustrations were realistic and vivid a bit disturbing considering I read this as a child. My memory of the story is vague but I will describe it anyway. It was about a girl who lived a lone in the forest. Many suitors came her way asking for her to marry them but non were good enough for her. One day she went down to a pond and discovered a talking frog the frog claimed to be a man who was transformed by an evil witch/goblin queen. The girl did not believe him. Later the girl met this witch goblin and the witch granted her three wishes(or one or two I can't remember exactly) and in one wish the frog was transformed into his true self, a handsome man. By the third wish the girl did something foolish and the witch tricked her. So the witch carried the man away (with the help of her creepy goblin henchmen) and the man was to become her husband. I distinctly remember that part because it was especially disturbing because she looked so hideous. Anyways, the girl goes off to find to find the witches castle and after a long journey she does. The girl kills the witch and confesses her love for the man and they live happily ever after. This book was printed in the 1990's or 1980's
