Should Prisoners whilst in prison have the right to Sue the prison Authorities?

I know they are still human etc but they are still criminals, whereas the majority of people that these rights are there to protect, live a crime free life, those people that haven't abided by the law, taking away other people's rights ie right to life, why shouldn't they have rights taken from them? I wish I could afford some of the things that they have provided for them in prison x
