Trouble converting CDFS to MP3s.

I have obtained a CD-R with some music files on it, but they are in an unknown to me, file system, CDFS.

Via a file converter I have converted the tracks to MP3s onto my hard drive, on which they are now showing up as MP3 files.

I then copied these MP3s onto a blank CD-R, when this was completed I checked the disc, and the files are once again showing up as CDFS.on the disk.

Could anyone please tell me why this is?

CDFS is just a way of describing the file system layout on a CD-R.

Copying mp3's onto a CD-R will keep mp3's on it .. They are stored as DATA (a data CD-R disc)
Converting mp3's onto an AUDIO CD results in .wav files seen as .cda by Windows.

But could you now tell me if one has a number of MP3 tracks and they want to make a music CD, for playing in the car for instance, how should one go about it?

You select and make an AUDIO CD in your burning program.
After you made up your compilation, the program converts the mp3's and burns the disc.
So the files you start off with are not changed .. and the files on the CD are completely different format and MUCH larger.

If you are using XP (NOT Windows 7) this is the EASIEST software to use .. and very small. Install it and try it! I use it for most audio compilations.
