What did everyone think about last night's Fred West drama 'Appropriate Adult'?

Was it in poor taste, or can you not wait for part 2, which is to be screened next week?

Hi aog,
I personally thought it was portrayed factually & not over glamourised at all. It showed to a degree what all involved went through on a personal level. Showed how cold and callous the Wests were. I was unsure if I could watch it through, but there was never any really graphic detail given & so I found it acceptable. Why acceptable? .. This case has long been out there for the public to read talk/ read about. Anyone that 'wants' details of the case can easily read up on it, it happened. I don't think it was in poor taste to show it .. I am finding things out I didn't know about the case, therefore it informs me better about the facts. It does not glamourise the Wests in any way, I think they must have well researched the case & transcripts of the interviews have been listened to and re -enacted word for word.

Apparently playing Fred West gave Dominic West nightmares.
The actor Dominic West was educated at Eton alongside David Cameron and Boris Johnson.
He was born into an Irish Catholic family in Sheffield, the son of George West, who owned a plastics factory, and Moya, a housewife.

I thought it was fascinating, can't wait for Part Two. I didn't really take much notice at the time but I didn't realise how evil Rosemary West was (is?) and what she did to those pregnant women ... and 'Fred' was so matter of fact about everything, it is unbelievable how wicked some people are. And no conscience.
As I said on the other thread about this I thought it was excellent and Dominic West as Fred and Emily Watson ?? as the AA were perfect in their roles. The events were shown through the Appropriate Adult's eyes and her horror and bewilderment at what was unfolding were mesmerising to see. I have to say judged as a TV programme it was gripping stuff and I shall be watching next week. For those that don't know Dominic W was in The Wire the American drama and it's Timothy West who is Prunella Scales' son.
