Would that be the fan belt pulley on the crankshaft?

Must be a well used car! I thought picasso's were fairly new. They don't make cars the same anymore some are that compact when you open the bonnet you cant get your hand in to change a bulb. I have a 18yo corsa and only recently has it needed replacement parts after 18 years. and they were things that should rely be replaced each year but never have been anyway!
I had the exact same problem with my Peugeot 206 and it turned out to be the fuel injector.

I would take it to a garage and ask for a diagnostic test. That should pin-point the problem/s.

Good luck
