Hi how do you qualify for help with the cost of vet bills or how can you get help from the RSPCA

The PDSA will help if you are on benefits and will hope you give a small donation.Now with vets they are only good at taking money not giving it so unless you have an insurance plan they are out, same with the RSPCA I would think.g

thankyou for your reply, I am on a state pension, my cat was a stray and she has got tooth problems and my vet as quoted �150 -180, it has already cost �54-85 for antibiotics, the pet insurence will not pay because they say it is teeth and they do not cover dental

There are also Blue Cross places in some areas. See if they have one in your area. They do cheap animal care for people on low incomes/benefits.

As Garner said, if you are in receipt of benefits, then the PDSA will treat your animal for a donation, large or small.
That includes State pension.
Failing that the CPL may be willing to help.

I member of my family works along side the PDSA and he says that their use of their money is totally inappropriate. He said that a young man bought a pedigree Rottweiller puppy for nearly �800 and went around bragging that now he had it registered on the PDSA so it didn't have to pay vets bills. To me that is very wrong.

The RSPCA are not there to help people out with their own pets really, unless you take it one of their own hospitals. They wound just give money out to help.

I feel that if you are going to have pets, you are responsible for their upkeep. I would feel embarrassed asking other people for help with my animals as they are in my care. I put a little away each month into their "account" so if they need an operation or something doing I can usually afford this.

If you are on benefits you can get your pet treated by the RSPCA. They just charge a nominal fee. Look them up in your local phone book. Have a word with them. I am sure they will be able to help you and your cat.

To Lil Lucy, I did not get the cat from a kitten it had been thrown over a balcony and had damaged her back leg I had this treated but since then I am not able to meet the �200 which is what the vet is saying the cost of her dental treatment will be. As for saving money I get �79 per week to live on.

Did you contact the Cats Protection League.
They will help you especially in your circumstances.
Or, as I said previously, the RSPCA will see you if you have a clinic in their area.

I an a pensioner, worked as a carer untill I was 57 in a care home, had operations (3) on my spine which means I can not work anymore, so I just get my retirement pension
