If you're at Watford Junction there's no need to get to Watford Underground station (which is nearly 1½ miles away!). Simply hop on a London Overground train to Wembley Central station. Timetable here:

It's then an easy walk to the stadium.

It's still better to walk from Wembley Central to the stadium than it is to get from one side of Watford to the other!
Wembley Central is one of the three stations which serves Wembley Stadium:

Sara,
I admit to googling the distance between Watford Junction and Watford Underground (and trusting the reply on a web forum) but I have actually walked it myself, several years ago. I couldn't recall the exact time or distance but I do remember struggling with a heavy bag, on a hot day, through crowded streets, trying to find somewhere safe to cross busy roads. I certainly didn't enjoy the walk!
Anyway, given that Foreverpools has indicated that he's happy to walk from Wembley Central, it would seem pointless for him to walk across Watford.
