Do you think the world is a safer place? I think in general it is because of the increased security , but i dont think its necessarily safer for muslims.Who in my experience , for the main part are no different from non-muslims ( i wont say christians because i know many people who would say they are christians but havent seen the inside of a church barring weddings or funerals). I think muslims are under a great deal of suspicion and fear in everyday life , much like the irish were in England during the troubles, but on an even greater scale.
It would be nice if we could all live happily together , but it seems like a dream more than a reality im afraid.

I listened to a feature on the radio early this morning from New York. Some Muslims from Manchester (who had absolutely nothing to do with the 9-11 event) were saying how immediately after the event, people in Manchester started to abuse them and throw stones at their headscarved sisters. It's a shame that everyone gets tarred with the same brush - the Muslim people I know don't condone terrorism one bit, but still feel that they are treated with suspicion and dislike, as the OP says.
