Ideas sought! Is there a public travel service from Freeport Maine to Boothbay Harbor? If not, any ideas on taxi fare?

this is a uk site so answers will be limited to those you can find on google
Freeport is accessible by car or taxi, there is no direct public transport

This includes a number you can call where I am sure you'll find the answer to cost etc
the money you save at all the outlet malls may cover your taxi fare! It's more than 50 miles, though, so trying to access it via Portland may make more sense.
This website confirms that there's no bus into Boothbay Harbor from Freeport:

The more recent US taxi fares quoted on this site suggest that you should allow around $3 per mile for a taxi:

So that suggests a fare of around $70 (£45).

Oops!

I'm glad that I've seen Jno's post. I've just realised that the website I used to find the distance between Freeport and Boothbay Harbor quoted a linear distance, rather than the road mileage. I've just consulted a proper routefinder, which shows the distance as 41 miles. So allow $120 (£75 to £80)
However, having been in Freeport numerous times (it is the home of L.L. Bean, after all) as well as Boothbay Harbor, I'd suggest you contact the hotel where you're staying. Often they will have a shuttle at little or no cost to go to Freeport, just because of L.L. Bean.
Whenyou go to L.L. Bean, notice that the doors have no locks... there open 24/7/365. I've been there at 0100 many times.
Just outsider the front entrance is a Ben and Jerry's ice cream stand... three zillion calories per scoop but well worth it!
Secondly, you're route to and from Freeport and Boothbay Harbor takes you through Brunswick, ME. The Joshua L. Chamberlain museum is worth seeing... small but very well appointed.
Every little village, (especially Brunswick and Bath) will have small, out of the way seafood shops... be sure to try their lobster chowder (or, as they say in Maine "lobstah chowdah".
Welcome to the U.S., by the way...
