Giving blood and Mefenamic Acid

Does anyone know if you can give blood while taking this tablet? Thanks.

I cannot think of any rational reason why someone who is taking Mefenemic Acid shouldn't donate blood, however I do stand to be corrected if necessary.

I have always been under the impression that you cannot give blood whilst taking any medication. I will be interested to see what the definitive answer is to this question if anyone knows.

I take lanzoprale & still give Blood.

I think there might have to be a couple of days between the last tablet taken and donating...ring the donor service before ou go.

Robinia, being daft it never occured to me to phone the blood people until you suggested it.

Anyway, the upshot - after speaking to four different people at the centre - is that you CAN give blood while taking Mefenemic acid but because I'm waiting to see a consultant and have still not been officially diagnosed with anything they won't take my blood tonight. I was looking forward to my Tunnocks Tea-cake too.. :(
