went to the above mentioned shop just outside Cardiff selected a 3 in 1 waterproof coat which was priced at £59.99 the shop assistant said it was a good price however when I went to the checkout was told that the coat was £100 pounds un less I purchased a discount card at £5 a year I declined and did not purchase the coat is this legal thought the discount usually is 10 per cent can anything be done to stop this problem

the price was only £59.99 if you purchased the £5 00 discount card the spotty youth at the till enformed me that the price of the jacket was £100 00 I told no thanks

...and yet you can purchase it online for £59.99, no discount card necessary.

If it was the case that such a dubious method of pricing was being employed (i.e. enticing you to purchase at a price only available under certain conditions and those conditions not prominently displayed with the price label), it seems to me that paying £5 to receive a £40 discount still amounts to a £35 discount.

You only need the discount card to reserve and collect in store - you can order online for home delivery at that price without a discount card but have to pay a delivery fee.

Everything in Go is double price with full price and discount card price. For £5 it is definitely worth paying, especially if you buy several things a year. I had to pay a £1 for a card in Matalan before I was even allowed to buy anything.
