It's not the Flu!!

Another post about the vaccine has just made me notice that it seems to be coming to that time of year when everybody comes down the 'the flu'. Then 2 days later they are fit as a fiddle again.
Is it just me who wants to shout at them. YOU DON'T HAVE THE FLU!!!!!

If the office I work in is anything to go by, if a bloke comes to work with a cold they invariably have man-flu, whereas if the girls get a cold they will miss work for two days and when they come back they claim they've had 'the flu'.

had flu a couple of times.. always winds me up too.... when I was a supervisor to a small group of staff and someone came back after a couple of days with flu I'd ask them to reconsider the reason for their absence pointing out to give a false reason is actually fraudulent... usually came back to well it was a bad cold.....that's fine and a perfectly valid reason to be off rather than infect everyone else....Still it's not as bad as the bus driver who seemed to be picking things out of a medical dictionary..... he put menorrhagia on his self cert..... I thought I was going to wet myself...
I must admit that I am suspicious when someone says that they have had Flu. Some people are certain that they get twice a year and they still manage to work/play golf etc.
I have had flu twice and was completely floored each time. Each time it took weeks, maybe even months, to get over it. Living alone makes looking after yourself when you are ill even harder.
I am going for a flu jab this year - and I hope that it works.

Wolfie, it does work. I haven't had flu since I started having them and I have also had one for pneumonia, which should last for ever, (or as long as you live). I think it is brilliant not to have to worry about it. Please don't anyone disillusion me - I don't want to know. I am happy in my little cocoon.
