Managers bullying partner at work - help!
My partner is having a tough time at work. In july on the same day as he wrote a grievance letter to work about a manager he was issued a discilpinary letter for a meeting.
The grievance came first, which has now been completed. However, the outcome was rediculous. In short he was branded a trouble maker, a verbally abusive person and a liar. A colleague and good friend of his also put in a grievance about the same treatment (following them around factory, listening in on conversations, telling them off for things others do not get told off for, having overtime refused and taking the micky out of them) and she was told similar to my partner. Basically swept under carpet.
My partner due to all this has had 5 weeks off of work since july due to stress, and basically the whole thing is starting to the family at home.
The disciplinary was held end of last week and the outcome letter received yesterday. However, I am confued by the letter and the minutes of the meeting. He has again been branded verbally abusive and received a writen warning which will last 12 months. The minutes of the meeting are confusing. They refer to the 1st meeting held last week as an appeal and they have taken statements into account - 3 being the same as my partner's account and 1 the opposite. (this person is very friendly with the managers and has warned my partner not to buy a new lunchbox as he wont need it!)
How can they get away with this, and what can be done? grievance didn't work, and a 12month warning is impossible for any human being to abide by in the atmosphere he's working in, 1 provocation and it's final warning or out!
