i have had a private health insurance for 12 years and one of the things that were not included was osteoarthritis of the hips as i had seen a doctor a few months previous for back pain.
It now seems i may need a resurfacing of the left hip due to just ware and tear..this impossible to diagnose 12 years ago..
Will i be insured for this ?

probablt not. Wear and tear IS osteoarthritis isn't it?

well yes but 12 years after noyhing was wrong...thats like excluding your hair falling out as you get older isnt it ?
but it IS excluded and you knew that when you took the policy out, so i can't see how you can quibble it now. In my experience, insurance companies look for any way to get out of paying and i think an exclusion clause for osteoarthritis in the hip seems pretty clear
ps, it's best to ask them - the worst they can say is no.
also, if you go on the NHS it'll probably only take 18 weeks to get treatment
