That ghastly morning feeling
1 Answers
Hi everyone.
I am having awful feelings of anxiety first thing in the morning as soon as wake up. I know the reason but it doesn't make it any easier to go through! My best friend has terminal lung cancer and only months to live and a week after her diagnosis, her husband had a major stroke and will be severely disabled by it. Of course, I am very concerned for them both and feel so terribly bad that I can't do more to help them.
I wake about 3.30 and can't get back to sleep because of the panicky feelings and as a result, am feeling a bit rough. I am doing ok at work and the feelings lessen as the day goes on. It's definitely just anxiety-I am not depressed (sad, yeah but I have had depression so I know what that feels like)I do get panics from time to time and each time, it takes a while to get a grip and use my CBT techniques.
My husband and I are going on holiday next week and I so want to feel better by then!
I really don't want to see the doctor (she will offer me antidepressants and they have never done me much good) so I wonder if anyone has ideas on coping strategies or even herbal remedies that I can try.
Thanks guys x
