laptop switching itself off...
5 Answers
just lately, my laptop has just suddenly gone off for no reason...and i have had to switch it back on again...
there are no problems with it coming back on...and it works fine.
any ideas why its doing this?
its only about every 3 days...
thanks

the power connection is a bit loose, and it has gone off in the same manner before but because the battery is needs charging, and i havent noticed the blue light isnt on to show its plugged in properly.
but these occasions are not that...

It sounds like your laptop power connector has an intermittent connection. Unfortunately although this is most likely due to a solder connection breaking away from the PCB, the cost to repair (which involves dismantling the case) is not cheap.
Are you certain that the problem is not due to the adapter connection failing and the battery running down to the point where the laptop switches off?
Otherwise it could be as a result of the above, plus an intermittent battery connection (as in the above post).

thats interesting fender... it does get hot but only in one spot just over the toucjpad
i have it on a laptray, with a 1 inch raised platform underneath to allow air under it...which has a fan in it...but i often forget to attach this to the usb
i will try to make sure its always plugged in and see if that stops it....
my battery is also almost dead...it lasts about 10-15 mins unplugged...it does charge up fully though, according to the gauge....but i have a new one on its way
