My son and his wife have discovered that their cat likes tomato soup. Will it do him any harm to give him some sometimes do you think?

Sorry, I can't help but was fascinated by the possibility of a new flavour...
lol i thought it was a new flavour
ha ha LIK

i wouldn't as the cat will prob be sick
I thought this was in Recipes, but on closer inspection....

I wouldn't, might be too rich and/or spicy for it
salty !
I doubt it'll seriously harm in now and again, all of my cats and dogs live on scraps as well as propriteory food and seem to live forever, I've just lost my lurcher last week aged a remarkable 18 years old- so didn't do him much harm.
Surely all cats are intelligent enough to know what they can eat and what might harm them.
oh ah. if my dog lives until 18 nox. ill be dead before him !
no ab not mrs evp, murph the other night decided to eat spaghetti i spent the next day cleaning up spaghetti vomit

murph thinks if i'm eating it then she can and will go after anthing, i find it funny when she launches herself at me and finds out i've got a mango or something...
Would that be with croutons?
Have you tried the cat on Ratatouie?
or chocolate mous(s)e
My cats only eat meaty things so I don't have any experience of this - but tomato soup is quite acidic and sometimes makes me feel ill. If pussy cat is well then why shouldn't he eat tomato soup.

Try telling him that he is 'supposed' to be a lean, mean killing machine and is an Obligate Carnivore. He will just stare at you with a blank look (fully understanding what you say to him) and either wander off or start licking/scratching.

Cats!
Seriously now and then OK, but not on a regular basis as it will be too salty him. Mind you if he's 25 yr old then it doesn't matter:-)
Our dog eats loads of things I'm sure she shouldn't, but not on a regular basis. I'm sure the same would apply to cats, as others say the salt and acidity could be a problem. Also the acid may start to decay the teeth.
The Mog loves a bit of tomato soup now & again, especially if it's tomato & basil. Won't touch chicken soup though. I reckon a spoonfull once in a blue moon doesn't hurt.
