call about my computer
have just received a call from a foreign gentle man telling me (I think) that there may be a problem with my computer shortly - he kept on about it was their server that was the problem and he was warning me about this. It all sounded rather suspicious and I found it very difficult to understand him - I felt I was being railroaded but didn't find out what (if anything) he was after. I said I was unable to speak at this time and put the phone down - any thoughts?

They either
a) Try to get control of your computer (it can be done) and steal personal information off it.
b) Try to get you to sign up and pay for some sort of "computer support" so they can protect your computer (they say).
NEVER do anyting they say on your computer (visit a web site, install a program).
NEVER give them any credit card or bank details.
Last time they rang me I shouted "F&K OFF" down the phone at them. The woman rang back and asked me not to be rude to her !
