Not so much hypocrisy, more like cowardice!

The US Government is afraid of upsetting Israel or, more importantly, of upsetting the large, politically active, pro-Israel movement within the USA.
The tail wags the dog yet again. Israel can get away with murder because they know the only country that counts is powerless to stop them.

I'm constantly astonished at what Israel gets away with and how the Palestinians get shafted.
I'm constantly astonished that so many people on this site condemn Israel for defending itself from terrorist attacks (10,000 rockets fired from Gaza), and do not condemn the tyrannical government in nearby Syria from daily murdering its own people. Comment also applies to the UN.
Every USA president has a Monica Lewinsky somewhere around him in his office. So they dare not speak or go against Israel or Jewish lobby in USA.

How can Isreal treat Palestinians how they were once treated!

The US supported the IRA because of the Irish vote and the Kennedys who hated us . It internal politics with the US even Obama made anti British remarks about BP because , it is claimed , his father was once imprisoned by the Brits in Kenya for Mau Mau terrorist activities.
ThE Jewish lobby is a powerful force in the US and no US President can ignore them.
