Did anyone watch the Ch 5 programme on Tuesday night about War Plan Red, which covered the USA's plans in the 1920's and 30's to declare war on Great Britain and the Commonwealth by invading Canada.
It's a good job Hitler came on the scene to divert their attention to Nazi Germany instead.
I'm still not convinced that was anything other than a theoretical exercise. After WW1 the major power in the world was already the USA. Why would they consider attacking a friendly nation?
I agree with sandy, I saw this mentioned on here a few days back and found it quite unbelievable, and upsetting too to think that the US would turn on us like that.
I did watch it, and it wasn't a theoretical plan, but one they would have put into action, if WW2 hadn't kicked off. And they detailed all the wars, or skirmishes that have happened between USA and Britain over the years and it was quite amazing to watch just how many there were. It was a fascinating programme, one i hope they repeat.
