Vauxhall Astra Problem
Does anyone know what might be the problem with my car. The other day i started my mk 4 Astra and went to pull away but the accelerator pedal had no response (no revs) instead the spanner and warning light came on. I switched off the engine and tried again but the same happened. After 10 mins i went back out to the car unlocked it and it was absolutely fine. I thought it might be a one off but it happened again this morning! does anyone have any ideas before Vauxhall rob me with a diagnostic!!!

if it has the non cable type of throttle pedal it could be the TPS
( throttle positioning sensor) or the pedal part itself, i had 1 fail on a Corsa & had to have a new pedal assembly fitted £200 fitted 3 years ago, can you not read the code as you can on a Corsa, see below.
Key off
- Press and hold brake and accelerator pedals fully
- Turn key to position 2...

It could be anything – which is why you should have one of these (or something similar), rather than paying Vauxhall garages loads of money.

Cheaper versions are available – but this looks like it has a reasonable spec, and will pay for itself in no time.

It's 1.9cdti 150 - all fluids have been checked and the engine/performance is sweet as a nut. Im guessing its some thing electrical. Have read many vauxhall forums and no one else has reported anything similar.
The two lights that appear are the engine block light and the spanner but soon as i turn off engine then switch back on again they disappear until i press the pedal.

Key off
- Press and hold brake and accelerator pedals fully
- Turn key to position 2 (warning lights on, don't start the engine)
- Keep the pedals held until the engine electronics light starts flashing
10 flashes means 0.
There will be about a second gap between the 4 digits produced.
E.g - 10 flashes, 2 flashes, 1 flash, 5 flashes = Error 0215
It'll stop for about 2 seconds after you've got the 4 digit code....then start again depending how many error codes you have.
