I looked at buying one one and thought the driving area felt really cramped & claustrophobic. I am over 6ft but coudnt get comfortable. At the time there were problems with the gearboxes failing - not sure if that is sorted now.
had to do a double take BUT Milvus your link is to the "Land Rover Discovery 3 (2004 - 2009 )". Hardy was asking about the "Land Rover Freelander 3" Sorry but there is EXTREME difference between the Discovery & the Freelander. I own a Disco and would not touch the freelandy (thats just a personal opinon). At the end of the day a Land Rover is still a Land Rover. the BEST 4x4xfar
I agree rnchugg, Land Rover is still a Land Rover. the BEST 4x4xfar Ive had a few including a few Range Rovers and they all done some serious off-roading as well.
We had a Land Rover Discovery and I hated driving it - everything is in the wrong place somehow, even the door handles.
Sorry my mistake, not the right long term test
Don't buy a petrol version!
There is no such thing as a Freelander 3, The original Freelander was produced from 1995 to 2006 and had a midlife facelift. The Freelander 2 was produced from 2006 onwards and is still in production today. It shares no components with the original Freelander. The latest edition is the 2011 model year Freelander 2 which came out this year and is a facelifted car with updated engines and transmissions. Is this what you mean when you say Freelander 3?
