Can anyone explain the meaning of the word 'fetisly' as in the prologue to the CanterBury Tales?
And French she spoke full fair and fetisly
After the school of Stratford atte Bowe,
For French of Paris was to her unknowe.
I tried to check it but was directed to some strange places on the Internet - places I'd prefer not to visit!
Many thanks.
