Good morning! A friend of mine suspects her email contact list has been 'hacked'. I have no idea what that means!

Any ideas about the best course of action to take?

You're hardly overloading us with information to go on!

Tell them to change their password for the email service (whomever that may be!)

if they have the contact list then changing passwords will not make any difference to the existing contacts

As I said, I have no idea what has occurred, I just got a message asking for advice, and I haven't been able to speak to her yet, but thank you for your suggestion.
