Having just watched the BBC programme on Royal Palaces, which tonight featured Holyrood in Edinburgh, I am still at a loss to understand why there is a German Royal family sitting in Buck house rather than the descendants of the Stuart line.

This wasn't popular (though not actually illegal at the time, I don't think); so various lords and parliamentarians invited William of Orange to be king (he was married to James's daughter), and James fled. His son and grandson - the old and young pretenders - did try to raise armies and recapture the throne, but failed.

well that is Charles III (or George VII) out of the way, he may not be Catholic but isn't he Camillatholic? Rules him out therefore and the Americans and young Brits get their way - i.e. the baton passes over to Will 5. However I do not care as long as that current (awful) Archbish of Canterbury is well out of the way when it comes to placing the crownon the royal tete and spilling the oil.......
