Feeling very intolerant this morning

This probably says more about me than them, but there are two girls in my office both of whom, when they speak, sound as though they are asking questions - its driving me up the wall.
And one of them, having spent six months in America, has developed (actually, I think its an affectation rather than a development) an odd American twang, which, combined with everything sounding like a question, is very annoying.
"hey, ahm gonna get some wadder"
Does this sort of thing wind other people up as well?
Or am I just a miserable sod?

I wonder whether it hints at insecurity- making a statement sound like just a suggestion or question so as to elicit a response as reassurance

LOL they'd drive me mad too flip-flop.
Another thing that gets me irritable in the office, it when someone in the room laughs at an incoming email or internet post and I'm expected to ask what's funny. Or I assume I am. Currently a colleague is sighing very loudly. I suppose I'll have to ask what up in a minute but quite frankly I don't give a damn!
