camera download problem

I have a Caplio R4 which my husband decided to borrow as he has a simliar model but didn,t have his handy today
he was halfway through downloading the photo when he realised that it was different software on his computer ,but now I can,t download any of the photos on my own computer either, has it done something to my camera?

problem solved thanks,
someone ??? had unplugged the USB power cable and I didn,t notice, no wonder it didnt work!
