How will the UK government and the salvage company spit the silver recovered from the SS Gairsoppa?

I think the government gets 20%...............
I read on here a day or so ago, that the salvage company is getting 80%.

That doesn't seem fair. A 50-50 split and the salvagers would have still have been well paid.
The government put it out to tender, and this salvage company appear to have offered the best bid.

I wish I could find something to link to for more info for you. I'll keep digging.

Thank you both. If a fee of 80% was the best tender I wonder what the worst one was?
Brown gets bugger all for our gold...............Cameron does the same with the silver.
80% to the company, 20% government, it's still a fair amount of money, we aren't talking chickenfeed.
£150 million haul, not a bad days work
