Is there anyone out there who has, or knows someone who has, ever won a cash prize on any ITV competition such as Good Morning or Dickinsons Real Deal with a free online entry?
I'd say you've as much chance winning with a free on-line entry as with any other.
A while back there was a scandal because people were phoning premium rate numbers to enter these competitions when the winners had already been picked. A few producers got the sack.
Any producer now who wants to keep his job would ensure that all enteries had an equal chance.
Free online entries have to make sense when some competitions ask for £1.50 if you enter by land-line or Text.
Last year I entered the Mail on Sunday competition online rather than by phone or post, and won a five-day break to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
I don't enter any competitions where you have to pay to enter. What's the point?
I once entered a competition with a free online entry, it didn't even cost me the price of a stamp, and I won a top of the range TV and stand worth approx. £1,500.
We still have it, and its fabulous. They didn't have it in stock, so upgraded me to the next level.
p.s. although I am called The Winner, it's because the week I joined AB, I had won a tenner on the lottery.
I won Family Fortunes last October with an online entry. I won £5,000, a camcorder and a 4-night trip to Euro Disney which I donated to Wish Upon a Star.
