After months of speculation.....

We have finally been told our establishment will close by March next year due to Government cut backs. Although we have been expecting it it seems all the more real as it has now been made official. There will now follow a mad rush to claim a vacant slot somewhere else and applying for that job. It has been closing since the end of the war, but another 7-10 yrs would have seen me out but it is not to be. I feel that is not the end of it as it is only another location the MOD is closing, we as an organization have not been touched to badly yet but it is coming it's just a matter of when. No more humour from old moonie for a while.

Sorry about the news moonie, I can imagine how you feel I can still remember how I felt when the Manager called us into a meeting and announced that the pit was going to be amongst the ones scheduled for closure. I honestly never thought I'd see the day when the mining industry had all but disappeared.Still life goes on moonie and I'm sure a man of your capabilities will manage some how good luck in finding a new career
My dear Moony - that is rotten news and no mistake. I sincerely hope that something will turn up trumps for you. Maintain the positive side to all you do in your search for new employment - I really believe it does help.
In the meantime, sunshine, feel free to come and post rude things to your old TT if it makes you feel any better ☺
Coz let's face it - you aint gonna make enough to live on as a full time lothario ;) (((HUGS))) ♥
